Bike rental delivered to Alberobello, trulli country's cycling base
Alberobello is about 110 km (68 miles) north of our Lecce base — around 1 hour 20 minutes by road via the SS613 and the SP toward Martina Franca. That puts it outside our three free-pickup shops (Lecce, San Foca and Calimera). We still deliver here: the fee is worked out on the distance from Lecce, and we quote it once you tell us your accommodation address, rather than publishing a flat regional rate that wouldn't hold for every street in town.
What makes Alberobello worth a bike delivery is what surrounds it, not only the trulli themselves. Locorotondo is 9 km away, Martina Franca a further 7 km, and the road back to Alberobello another 15 km — a rolling 31 km (19 mile) loop through olive groves, vineyards and dry-stone field walls that links three Valle d'Itria towns in a single day, detailed further down this page. If you're staying in Alberobello to walk Rione Monti and Aia Piccola or see the Trullo Sovrano, a delivered bike turns a single-town stop into a loop through the whole area. For the sights themselves, see our full guide to things to do in Alberobello.
Below: the same four bikes and prices we quote everywhere else in Puglia, how delivery to Alberobello actually works, and the real loop from here. For the wider regional picture, see bike rental in Puglia or the cycling in Puglia pillar.

Delivery and pickup in Alberobello
Alberobello isn't one of our three free-pickup shops — those are Lecce (Via Francesco Ribezzo 2D), San Foca (Via D'Annunzio 13) and Calimera (Via Roma 163), all in Salento. Alberobello is about 110 km (68 miles) further north, in Valle d'Itria.
We deliver here on request. The surcharge is calculated on the distance from our Lecce base, so tell us your accommodation address in Alberobello (or a meeting point, such as Piazza del Popolo) when you book, and we'll confirm the cost before you pay anything — we don't publish a fixed regional table, because the fee genuinely depends on where in town you're staying.
Delivery and pickup times are agreed with you when you book, around your arrival and departure — scheduled in advance rather than same-day: contact us a few days ahead and we agree a window that works for you.
Our Salento base is reachable 24/7. Deliveries outside Salento are scheduled in advance. Via Francesco Ribezzo 2D, Lecce. Phone +39 320 4864478.

Riding from Alberobello: the Valle d'Itria loop
Alberobello – Locorotondo – Martina Franca loop — about 31 km (19 miles) in total: Alberobello to Locorotondo is 9 km (5.6 miles), Locorotondo to Martina Franca a further 7 km (4.3 miles), and the road back from Martina Franca to Alberobello another 15 km (9.3 miles). The route runs on secondary roads through olive groves, vineyards and dry-stone field walls rather than the SS172 main road. Terrain is gently rolling rather than flat: a route plotted for this loop using OpenStreetMap routing data shows a total elevation gain of about 251 m, mostly as several short rises rather than one long climb — a routing-based estimate for the road option described above, not a track we've ridden ourselves. Refill water bottles in the main piazza of each of the three towns; there's little in between them. Full detail on Locorotondo and Martina Franca themselves is in best places to visit in Puglia and things to do in Alberobello.
Both the Trek Domane AL and Trek Checkpoint ALR handle this route's paved secondary roads without trouble. Take a Rockrider or Trek e-bike if you're combining all three towns in one day and would rather not feel the rolling terrain by the third stop.
Alberobello to Ostuni — a further 35 km beyond Martina Franca, for those extending the trip toward the coast. See bike rental in Ostuni if you're splitting your stay between the two towns.
A bike delivered to Alberobello is ready to start this loop straight from your accommodation — there's no need to drive to a trailhead first. For the fleet used on longer multi-day trips through Valle d'Itria, see bike rental in Valle d'Itria, or the regional overview at bike rental in Puglia.
FAQ
- Do you deliver to Alberobello?
- Yes, on request. It's outside our three free-pickup shops (Lecce, San Foca and Calimera), so we calculate a surcharge based on the distance from our Lecce base and confirm it once you tell us your accommodation address.
- How far is Alberobello from your base, and how long does delivery take?
- About 110 km (68 miles) by road, around 1 hour 20 minutes. Delivery and pickup times for Alberobello are agreed with you when you book, around your arrival and departure — scheduled in advance rather than same-day, so contact us a few days ahead.
- What's the best bike for the Alberobello-Locorotondo-Martina Franca loop?
- The Trek Domane AL or Checkpoint ALR both handle this route's paved secondary roads well. Take a Rockrider or Trek e-bike if you're combining all three towns in one day and want help with the rolling terrain.
- Is there a minimum number of days to get a bike delivered to Alberobello?
- We don't publish a fixed minimum here — tell us your dates and we'll confirm what works, including whether a longer rental changes the delivery surcharge.
- How do I choose the right bike size?
- Tell us your height when you book and we confirm the right frame size before delivery, then adjust the saddle on-site. If anything feels wrong once you're riding, tell us and we'll fix it.
- What happens if I get a puncture or the bike breaks down near Alberobello?
- Every bike goes out with a repair kit and a spare inner tube for minor fixes. For anything more serious, our mechanics arrange support as fast as they can — how quickly depends on the distance from our Lecce base, since Alberobello is around 110 km away.
- Do I need a licence or ID to rent a bike?
- No licence is needed. Bring ID when you pick up or when we deliver, so we can match the booking to you.
- Do you speak English?
- Yes — ask about other languages when you get in touch.
