Bike rental in Ostuni, delivered from our Lecce base
We're based in Lecce, 77 km (48 miles) south of Ostuni — about 1 hour 5 minutes by car. Ostuni isn't one of our three free-pickup shops (Lecce, San Foca and Calimera), but we deliver here regularly: tell us where you're staying and we quote the surcharge before you book, worked out on the distance from our base rather than a flat regional rate.
Most requests we get for Ostuni are for masserie — converted farmhouses spread across the olive groves outside the historic centre — rather than the old town itself, where narrow, stepped streets make riding impractical anyway. If you're staying at a masseria without your own transport, delivery is often the only realistic way to get a bike out to you. Fleet and full pricing are below; the delivery section further down covers how the Ostuni surcharge works.
For self-guided rental across the wider region, see bike rental in Puglia; for guided rides instead, see cycling in Puglia.

Delivery and pickup in Ostuni
Ostuni sits outside our three free-pickup shops — Lecce, San Foca and Calimera — so delivery here carries a surcharge rather than being included.
How the surcharge works: we calculate it on the distance from our Via Francesco Ribezzo 2D base in Lecce, so the exact figure depends on where in Ostuni or the surrounding countryside you're staying — a masseria several kilometres outside town costs differently to an address in the old town itself. Tell us your accommodation when you enquire and we confirm the surcharge before you pay anything. We don't publish a fixed regional table, because a single flat rate wouldn't hold for every address around Ostuni.
Timing: we work a delivery and pickup window scheduled in advance rather than same-day — tell us your arrival and departure times when you book and we'll do our best to match them, within reason.
Transfer cost: Ostuni is about 155 km from our bases, so delivery here carries a one-off transfer cost between €50 and €150, depending on how many bikes, how many days and the distance. It is charged once, not per day: on a booking of 2 to 4 bikes for around ten days it is a small share of the total, while on a short rental it rarely makes sense — we will tell you honestly which case you are in. Delivery and pickup are scheduled in advance, on a window agreed with you.
How it works
- Tell us your dates, where you're staying in Ostuni and which bike you want.
- We confirm sizes, bike availability and the delivery surcharge for your address.
- We deliver the bike to your accommodation and adjust the saddle and fit before we leave.
- We collect the bike from the same address at the end of your rental.
Where you can ride from Ostuni
Two real routes to build a trip around, one starting from the old town itself and one further afield in Valle d'Itria:
Ostuni old town to Torre Canne and back — about 19.5 km (12.1 miles) one way, 39 km (24 miles) round trip. The old town sits at 218 m (715 ft) above sea level, so the ride out to the coast at Torre Canne is a net drop on paved secondary roads through olive groves — the road undulates rather than descending in a straight line, so expect short rises even on the way down. Reckon on 1-1.5 hours each way at a relaxed pace on a road or gravel bike; the return climb is easier on an e-bike. We haven't ridden this specific route ourselves to check current surface conditions, since it isn't one we cover regularly from our Lecce base — worth checking locally before taking a group out on narrow tyres. Net elevation loss on the outbound leg is around 222 m, confirming the coastal descent described above. Full detail on the old town itself is in our things to do in Ostuni guide.
Valle d'Itria loop, Locorotondo-Alberobello-Martina Franca — about 31 km on quiet, mostly flat secondary roads through olive groves and vineyards, with a couple of short rises. It doesn't start in Ostuni itself — Alberobello is 35 km away — so this is better treated as a second day's ride if you're basing yourself in Ostuni for more than a couple of days, or as part of a stay further into Valle d'Itria. Full detail in the best places to visit in Puglia. Renting from a base closer to that loop, see bike rental in Alberobello or bike rental in Valle d'Itria.
FAQ
- How much does delivery to Ostuni cost?
- There's no fixed rate — the surcharge depends on the distance from our Lecce base to your exact address. Tell us where you're staying, including a masseria in the countryside, and we confirm the cost before you book.
- Can you deliver to a masseria outside the historic centre?
- Yes — most of our Ostuni deliveries go to masserie in the surrounding countryside rather than the old town. Give us the address and we'll quote the delivery cost for that specific location.
- How do I choose the right bike size?
- Tell us your height when you book and we confirm the right frame size before delivery, then adjust the saddle on-site. If anything feels wrong once you're riding, tell us and we'll fix it.
- What happens if I get a puncture or the bike breaks down?
- Every bike goes out with a repair kit and a spare inner tube for minor fixes. For anything more serious, our mechanics arrange support as fast as they can — how quickly depends on the distance from our Lecce base, so tell us your location in Ostuni when you get in touch.
- Is there a minimum stay for delivery to Ostuni?
- No. The price table above applies whether you're renting for one day or several — the delivery surcharge is a separate, one-off cost quoted for your address.
- Do I need a licence or ID to rent a bike?
- No licence is needed. Bring ID when we deliver, so we can match the booking to you.
- Do you speak English?
- Yes — ask about other languages when you get in touch.
- What's your cancellation policy?
- We don't publish a fixed cancellation policy on this page. Ask us when you enquire and we'll confirm the terms that apply to your dates before you book.
