Bike rental in Lecce: pick up in town, ride to the sea

Lecce is the easiest place in Salento to start riding. The city sits in the middle of the peninsula: the Adriatic is about 12 km away, the Ionian about 30, and between them there is a web of quiet country lanes. Our main pickup point is in town, and from there you are out of the traffic in minutes.

Where to pick up your bike in Lecce

We are at Via Ribezzo 2D, a short ride from the historic centre and the station. Pickup and return here are free. We agree the time with you, including early starts for hot days, and we set up saddle height, pedals and bags before you leave. If you are staying in the city and prefer delivery, ask in your quote.

With the bike you also get our route advice and GPX tracks for the rides below, and WhatsApp support during the whole rental.

Lecce by bike: what makes sense and what doesn't

The historic centre is best on foot: narrow paved lanes, pedestrian areas, lots of people in the evening. Use the bike to leave the city. In fifteen minutes you are among olive groves, masserie and low stone walls, on roads where you meet more tractors than cars. That is the Lecce worth renting a bike for.

A typical day by bike from Lecce

  • 8:30 — Pickup at Via Ribezzo. Bike fitted, route loaded on your phone or Garmin.
  • 9:00 — Out of the city towards the Adriatic. Country lanes east of Lecce, flat and quiet.
  • 10:00 — The coast at San Cataldo. First swim or coffee by the sea.
  • 11:00 — South along the coast to San Foca and Roca Vecchia. Cliffs, watchtowers and the Grotta della Poesia (in 2026: 5€ ticket, swimming not allowed).
  • 13:00 — Lunch in San Foca or Torre dell'Orso.
  • 15:00 — Back inland through Melendugno and Calimera, on the lanes of the Grecìa Salentina.
  • 17:30 — Return in Lecce, or leave the bike at our San Foca point if you prefer to end at the sea.

Total around 55–65 km, almost no climbing. On an e-bike it is an easy day; on a road or gravel bike it is a satisfying one.
