Road bike rental in Puglia: Trek Domane for Salento roads
Salento is made for endurance road riding: long, quiet lanes, short punchy rises instead of mountains, and a coastline where you can ride for hours with the sea on one side. Our road bike for that is the Trek Domane AL.
The bike: Trek Domane AL
The Domane is Trek's endurance road bike: a relaxed position you can hold for a full day, disc brakes, and room for comfortable tyres. Ours has an aluminium frame and a carbon fork. It is not a carbon race bike, and we say it clearly because some riders search for one. On Salento roads, with their patched asphalt and the odd stretch of rough surface, a stable endurance frame is the better tool.
Every Domane comes with helmet, front and rear lights, lock, frame bag, phone mount, pump, repair kit and a spare tube. The Domane cannot take a rear rack: if you plan to carry luggage, look at the gravel bike.

Our fleet covers riders from about 150 to 191 cm. If you are between two sizes, send us your height and inseam and we choose with you. At pickup we set saddle height and setback; bring your own measurements if you have them.
Pedals, saddle and your own kit
The bike comes with flat pedals. On request we fit SPD-SL or Look road pedals, or SPD if you prefer walkable shoes (+5€). You can also bring your own pedals and saddle: we mount them at pickup. A Garmin mount is available on request, and every rental comes with GPX tracks you can load on your device.
Road riding in Salento: what to expect
- Wind is the real climb. Plan loops so the headwind comes early.
- Surface: country lanes are paved but not always smooth. The Domane's comfort matters here.
- Traffic: minor roads are very quiet; avoid the main state roads (SS16, SS101) and the coast road in August afternoons.
- Heat: from June to August, start early. The best months for long road days are April, May, September and October.
