E-bike rental in Salento: which e-bike, how far, for whom
An e-bike changes what a day in Salento can be. Two people with different fitness ride together, the wind stops being a problem, and a 60 km loop between two seas becomes a relaxed day with time for a swim and a long lunch. We rent two families of e-bikes, and they suit different people.

Trek or Rockrider?
Choose a Trek if you want an e-bike that still feels like a bike. At around 17–18 kg it is light enough to lift onto a step or a train, it rides naturally with the motor off, and the assistance is smooth. The first battery is built into the frame; for long days add a removable second battery (+10€/day) for around 100 km in total.
Choose a Rockrider if you want a sturdier e-bike, suspension for rough tracks, and a battery you can take indoors to charge. It is heavier and less agile, but very forgiving on white roads and uneven surfaces. It also costs less.
Our rule of thumb: couples doing coastal days and villages, Trek. Riders who want dirt tracks and do not mind the weight, Rockrider. Not sure? Tell us your plan and we suggest one.
How far can you really go
Range depends on more than the battery:
- Assistance level: riding in the highest mode can halve the range.
- Wind: a headwind on the coast costs more than a hill.
- Rider weight and luggage.
- Heat and stops: less of a factor than people think.
Plan your longest day at about two thirds of the indicated range and you will not run out. We give you a route that fits the battery and tell you where to recharge if needed.
E-bikes for couples and families
An e-bike is the easiest way for a couple with different fitness to ride together: the stronger rider uses less assistance, the other more, and nobody waits. For families we can fit a child seat on request on our e-bikes: tell us the child's age. The Trek and the Rockrider E-ACTV take a rear rack and panniers (+2€/day) for beach bags and picnic lunches.
Prices
Rockrider e-bikes run from 55€/day for one day to 40€/day from 8 days; Trek e-bikes from 60€ to 45€/day.
Second removable Trek battery: +10€/day. Helmet, lights, lock and repair kit are always included.

Frequently asked questions
- How far can an e-bike go in Salento?
- The Rockrider E-ACTV 100 does up to 70 km per charge. The Trek e-bikes reach around 100 km with the optional second battery. Headwind and high assistance reduce range.
- Can I charge the e-bike at my accommodation?
- The Rockrider E-ACTV battery is removable and charges from a normal socket indoors. The Trek battery is built in, so the bike needs to be near a socket; the optional second battery is removable.
- Are e-bikes good for couples with different fitness?
- Yes. Each rider picks their assistance level, so you ride together at the same pace.
- Do you have child seats for e-bikes?
- Yes, on request. Tell us the child's age when you ask for a quote.
- How heavy are your e-bikes?
- The Trek e-bikes weigh about 17–18 kg. The Rockrider models are heavier, with sturdier frames and suspension.
