Bike rental in Alberobello
Alberobello is at 402 m, and nothing around it is flat: the lanes between the trulli rise and fall all the way to Locorotondo and Martina Franca, and the sea is 23 km away and 400 m below. We are SalentoBike, a bike rental in Lecce, 116 km south. We bring Trek e-bikes, road and gravel bikes to your trullo or hotel in Alberobello, or you collect for free in Lecce and reach the trulli by train. How to get a bike in Alberobello
Delivery. We bring the bikes to your accommodation and collect them at the end. Alberobello is our furthest regular delivery, so the fee is charged per leg, based on distance, and written in your quote before you book.
Free pickup in Lecce and the train. Alberobello has its own FSE station on the Bari–Martina Franca line, ten to fifteen minutes on foot from the trulli, with free parking in the station area on Via Cadore. From Bari Centrale the FSE train takes about 1 h 45 with a change at Putignano. From Lecce the rail link to the valley is longer and runs via Martina Franca: ask us and we tell you which connection makes sense with the bike, or whether delivery is simply cheaper for your dates.
Parking. The central car parks (Largo Martellotta, Via Indipendenza, Via Monte San Michele) cost 1.50 €/h and fill by ten in summer; the station area is free. If you drive in from Lecce, we can also meet you at our point and put the bikes on your car.
The hills, honestly
Every loop from Alberobello climbs. The short trulli loop is 20.9 km with 200 m; the loop to Locorotondo 33.6 km with 360 m; our own Valle d'Itria loop through Locorotondo, Alberobello and Martina Franca, which we ride ourselves, is 30.4 km with 302 m and a steepest pitch of 10 %. The single ride to Martina Franca is 18 km with 256 m up and 228 m down, topping out at 490 m. None of it is long; all of it is up and down. That is why we send e-bikes here more than anywhere else: a regular walker does the 30 km loop in mid assist with time for three towns.

Bosco Selva is 45 hectares of fragno and holm oak two kilometres from the centre, with a picnic area and free access; its loop is half unpaved, so it belongs to the Rockrider e-bike or the gravel bike. Alberobello to Ostuni, 46 km with 448 m up and 634 m down, is the link to the coast side of the valley: rides from there are on bike rental in Ostuni, and the hub for Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca is bike rental in the Valle d'Itria.
Half a day, the sea, the market
In half a day: the trulli loop, then Rione Monti and Aia Piccola on foot (1,030 and 590 trulli, UNESCO since 1996; Trullo Sovrano 2.50 €). The nearest swim is Capitolo, below Monopoli, 23 km by road and all downhill: on an e-bike the ride down, a swim and the climb back is a full day of about 50 km, or take the 76.6 km loop by Torre Canne if you have the legs and a second battery. Thursday is market day, 7:30 to 12:30, food stalls in Via Barsento. In July and August the lanes have no shade and the town is at its busiest from ten to five: ride early, walk the trulli late.
Which bike for Alberobello
E-bike, first choice: the Trek FX+ or Dual Sport+ for tarmac loops, with a second battery for the sea; the Rockrider E-ACTV with removable battery, chargeable in your trullo, for Bosco Selva.
